1. INSTALLATION

To run the CD_ROM booklet, open the file "start.htm"
in the root directory.

If you do not have a JavaScript enabled browser such as
Mircosoft Internet Explorer 4 or Higher, or Netscape 
Navigator 4 or higher install Netscape Navigator 4.

To install Netscape Navigator select the file n32e408.exe
in the netscape directory. This file will automatically
install Netscape Navigator 4. Note that this is the stand
alone version and does not include a complete version of 
Netscape Comunicator.

2. TIPS AND TRICKS

For help consult the Starting Out section of the 
CD_ROM booklet.

Your internet browser must be JavaScript enabled for
the menu system to function correctly. This will be 
automatically enabled in the accompaning version of
Netscape Navigator. 

To maximise the viewing area, it is recommended that
you remove all optional toolbars etc. from your Internet
browser. This can be achived by selecting the View Menu
in Netscape Navigator.

Ensure that the browser cache is set to a sufficient
size to allow the quick loading of images. This is
only nescessary if you wish to repeatedly view the same
images. 

In Netscape Navigator this can be done by selecting 
"Preferences" from the Edit Menu. Then expand the "Advanced" 
directory by clicking on the + icon, this will then change to 
a - icon. Select "Cache" and set a memory cache.

For best use of the links set your browser to use the
documents links colour settings. This can be set in 
"Preferences", "Appearance", "Fonts": "Use document-
specificed fonts".

Sometimes the browser will incorrectly display a page. 
This can be fixed by going back one page and reloading.

On lower resolutions and smaller screen sizes, the text
may be too large. This can be remedied by altering the 
browser's font size settings. In the View Menu select
"Decrease Fonts" or "Increase Fonts".

In the authors experience the CD_ROM works best when
viewed from Netscape Navigator 3 or 4. 

3. USAGE AGREEMENT

The use of the VETIVER CD_ROM Booklet implies 
agreement with the below Conditions of Use.

i. The VETIVER CD_ROM booklet and related files, 
images, directory structures etc. remain the 
property of the Queensland Department of Natural
Resources and The Vetiver Network. Any use of
the associated material in any manner must be
acknowledged appropriately.

ii. The sale and or copying of the VETIVER CD_ROM 
booklet is prohibited without the express permission
of the authors. Any unauthorised use is viewed as
a violation of intellectual rights and is thus 
expressly prohibited.
